<div dir="ltr"><br><br>==============================================================<br><br>CALL FOR PARTICIPATION<br><br>Nurse Activity Recognition Challenge Using Lab and Field Data<br><br><a href="https://abc-research.github.io/nurse2020" target="_blank">https://abc-research.github.io/nurse2020</a><br>12 - 16th September 2020, Cancun, Mexico -> Online<br><br>ACM Conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp)<br><br>==============================================================<br><br>Activity recognition is the task of classifying daily life activities performed by a human on sensor observations. Using mobile phones accelerometer for this observation is one of the cheapest and most convenient method. Activity recognition is specially gaining attention in care facilities for remote monitoring of daily activities for elders living alone and automatic record creation for nurses in hospitals with a goal of providing better care to patients. One challenge for these applications is bridging the gap between models created within the lab and models for real life.<br><br><br>CHALLENGE<br><br>In this challenge, participants will create methods for recognizing 12 activities conducted by nurses in both lab and in real-life settings. In real world, there is high chance of getting missing labels during experiments since users are busy at work.  The main challenge is leveraging laboratory data to improve models in real-life. Training data consists of data collected in both settings but test data consists of data only from the real field (same users as training data).<br><br>The evaluation of submissions will be done solely based on the accuracy.<br><br><br>PRIZES<br><br>- The winner (one team representative) will be invited to our installations in Kitakyushu, Japan. Read conditions in the web page.<br><br>To be eligible, participants need to register in<br><br>Submit their results and a paper to HASCA Workshop.<br><br><br>PAPER FORMAT<br><br>- The paper should not exceed 6 pages.<br><br>- ACM requires all UbiComp/ISWC 2020 submissions to use the ACM SIGCHI Master Article template with 2 columns. This applies to all submissions including adjunct proceedings (i.e. for UbiComp/ISWC workshops). You can find the template and more info at TEMPLATES ISWC/UBICOMP2020.<br><br>- Submissions do not need to be anonymous.<br><br>- Submit your papers to <a href="https://new.precisionconference.com/submissions" target="_blank">https://new.precisionconference.com/submissions</a> (select SIGCHI -> UbiComp/ISWC 2020 -> UbiComp/ISWC 2020 Workshop: HASCA, and push Go button).<br><br><br>REVIEW & PUBLICATION<br><br>- All publications will be peer reviewed together with their contribution to the topic of the workshop.<br><br>- The accepted papers will be published in the UbiComp/ISWC 2020 adjunct proceedings, which will be included in the ACM Digital Library.<br><br><br><br>IMPORTANT DATES<br><br>Start of competition:                  May 1, 2020<br>Registration closes:                     June 15, 2020<br>Test data sent to participants:  June 15, 2020<br>Submission of results:                 July 5, 2020<br>Submission of paper:                  July 5, 2020<br>Paper results               :                July 18, 2020<br><br>----<br><br>ORGANIZERS<br><br>Sozolab (<a href="http://sozolab.jp" target="_blank">sozolab.jp</a>)<br><br>__<br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr" data-smartmail="gmail_signature">-----<br>Sozo INOUE, Kyutech, <a href="http://sozolab.jp" target="_blank">http://sozolab.jp</a><br><br></div></div></div>
