<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Selected sexual health services, including partner notification for chlamydia, are increasingly being delivered online. There are both benefits and challenges of making this transition to online delivery (for
providers and service users alike), and the design of the digital interaction is central to the quality of the user experience. We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow with experience of Human–Computer Interaction to identify core user experiences and
needs for future service users and to prototype and test possible interaction designs, building on prior work. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The post offers a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to join UCL Interaction Centre, working with other groups across UCL and nationally, to contribute to the development of cutting-edge research
into digital sexual health (eSexual Health).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The main purpose of the role is to investigate user requirements and prototype novel interactive designs on a newly awarded NIHR funded Grant, “Improving care for people with sexually transmitted infections
in a digital NHS”. The post holder will work under the supervision of Prof Ann Blandford, working closely with Dr Jo Gibbs and the broader project team. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The programme focuses on delivering online clinical care for people with sexually transmitted infections and builds on previous work in which we developed an innovative eSexual Health Clinic (eSHC), accessible
on various devices, and demonstrated safety and feasibility in exploratory studies. It is supported and delivered by a multi-institutional, multidisciplinary team of leaders in the fields of digital health, epidemiology, clinical sexual health, public health,
health economics, human computer interaction, statistics, health psychology and sexual health commissioning. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Programme institutions include University College London, University of Birmingham, University of Strathclyde, Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (programme host), NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde,

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Applicants must have obtained a PhD or an MSc in a relevant subject (e.g. Human–Computer Interaction or Digital Health), or have equivalent experience. Enthusiasm for working in healthcare and the ability
to work collaboratively and as part of a team is essential. They should have strong qualitative and prototyping skills. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in HCI and will have demonstrated potential for excellent research (e.g., as evidenced by
their publication track record in international journals).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Please note: appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD. Where applicants have not been awarded a PhD (or have equivalent experience), appointment will be made at Research Assistant
UCL Grade 6B (£32,217 - £33,958 per annum). Where applicants are PhD candidates, af this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B (salary £31,542 - £33,257 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of
final submission of the PhD thesis (including corrections).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
