Title: Wearable and Ambient Sensing for Well-being and Emotional Awareness in the Smart Workplace
Confidence
4 (Highly confident - I consider myself an expert in the area)
Contribution to UbiComp
This submission proposes to investigate how ambient and wearable
technology can help individuals to manage stress and improve well-being
at the workplace through social awareness.
Overall Rating
5 (Probably accept: I would argue for accepting this paper.)
The Review
This is a well-defined research with specific research questions and
research objectives. The idea is not completely new and there is a lot of
work in the area, but the student seem to be aware of this work. The
initial literature review on wearable technology for behavior change is a
great step to uncover the related work, I suggest that more should be
done in terms of stress and not only wearable to have an even better
picture.
The timing for the DC seems right and I think that this student can gain
a lot from the discussion with the panel. In preparation for the Doctoral
School, I would advise the student to further explore related work, and
also perhaps have a few ideas about how Ubicomp technology could help.
Given the amount of work out there, it will be interesting to see what
novel approaches will be proposed.
*************************
Camera-ready requirements: for the camera-ready paper, please clarify
better in the text what are the specific activities that have been
performed. Also make it more clear what activities are already planned
ahead and how do you plan to answer the research questions through them.
The distinction between research performed and planned should be clear,
and activities should be directly related to the research questions.
