Betreff: Ubicomp DC: What is your Spiel

Dear Ubicomp Doctoral School students.

Our DS is approaching very fast and next week we will all meet in Heidelberg to hear you talk about your PhD work.
We are all excited about it, and we are looking forward to a productive day.

We have a few things we would like to remind/communicate to you before your arrival to Heidelberg

Elevator/Sales Pitches
-----------------------------
As you might have seen on the program (available here: http://ubicomp.org/ubicomp2016/program/doctoral-school.php) one of the activities that we will organize during the day is a facilitated session on creating your sale/elevator pitch.
The session will be interactive and will focus on your research, but in order to prepare yourself, please start thinking about how do you want to sell your work and what you can do in 3min, and in 1min … and 30sec… ;-) To facilitate this process we will make use of the handout attached to this email. Please take a look at it and start thinking about your work in this terms.

Posters
-----------
Remember to bring your poster, that will be featured during the DS day and also during the conference.

Venue/Room
------------------
There has been a slight change in program and the DS will be in the Sebastian-Münster-Saal, in the same venue, the Kongresshaus Stadthalle Heidelberg.
Please note this change, and be there at 8.30 on Tuesday.

Ubicomp DS Dinner
---------------------------
Remember that we will have a DS dinner the evening of the DS, so don’t make any plans for that night. It will be a fun night all together. We will communicate the venue very soon.
Also, please let us know if you will be in town the evening before (Monday Sept 12). We are looking at possibly meet all together for some drinks.

Fellow Ubicomp DS students
----------------------------------------
Finally, in order to facilitate the social interaction for the DC class of 2016, see below the list of all the students that will be part of the Doctoral School.
Feel free to reach out to them, especially if you arrive in Heidelberg a couple of days in advance.
