Thanks for the quick response. I was looking at Lufthansa flights both ways
that some colleagues just purchased for $985. According to this link:
http://www.lufthansa.com/mediapool/pdf/95/media_1455611495.pdf, it sounds
like this flight would be compliant provided that it has a United
code-share (which I have yet to check, but I assume it does given that
colleagues bought it).

I'm fine with paying for the flight on my own and being reimbursed. By tag,
I assume you mean a check? That would work for me.
